Tesamorelin is a synthetic analogue of endogenous human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), consisting of the full 44-amino acid sequence of GHRH with a trans-3-hexenoic acid group attached to the N-terminus to enhance stability. It acts on pituitary somatotroph cells to stimulate the synthesis and pulsatile release of growth hormone. Supplied as lyophilized powder for research use only.
